Hi! Iβm LeAnne, and welcome to Lionβs Bread! This space is all about sharing my love of scratch baking and cooking, using real ingredients and whole foods. I donβt take many shortcuts in the kitchen, and I love βslowerβ food. Iβm an American-Israeli, California-native, NYC- transplant living in the Pocono Mountains of PA. Ya, Iβve moved a lot! My food is inspired by the people I love and places Iβve traveled. Each recipe is its own world, and Iβm so glad to be able to share them with you!
MY STORY
In 2008, Lionβs Bread was my small baking business on Marthaβs Vineyard, selling my familyβs award winning Challah bread. My nickname on the Vineyard was βLion,β so when I started making Challah, βLionβs Breadβ was born.
Some of my earliest memories are of helping my Mom in the kitchen. Our house was very food-forward. I grew up very much understanding the importance of home-cooked food, because our table always had a hot meal, and homemade treats.
After college, and a brief stint in the corporate world, I realized that life behind a desk wasnβt a good fit. I wanted to bake, for real. With student loans to pay off from my 4-years in Boston, pastry school wasnβt an option. I started working at a great bakery in California, and within a couple of years was able to work my way all the way up, learning real skills from the guys who had been baking and decorating for decades. That was it, I was totally hooked on baking, and addicted to perfecting my recipes.
Fast forward to 2026, and Iβm back on the East Coast, in the Pocono Mountains of PA. Iβm a wife, and mom to 4, Noah, Ellie, Maya, and Ari. We left the hustle of the NYC urban jungle for a slower pace and room to breathe. Weβve turned our home into a micro-farm with free range chickens and a vegetable + fruit garden that Iβm completely obsessed with. I love to entertain, and I love a full table.
I bake and cook daily, but when Iβm not in the kitchen, Iβm probably DIYβing a project, gardening, or riding my horses.
One of the greatest and simplest pleasures in life is sharing a good meal. If you love my recipes, please share them with your family and friends.
